    Julius Kaufman, born on July 4, 1920 in Staszow, Poland, discusses pre-war life Lodz; Lodz Ghetto; the tannery labor unit; being deported to Auschwitz concentration camp in August 1944; forced labor in the auto industry in Braunschweig, Germany; internment in additional labor camps including Bendorf; liberation near Ludwigslust; post-war in Lubeck, Germany; recuperation in Sweden until 1954; and immigrating to the United States.
