    Miksa Mechlowitz, born on October 27, 1928 in Bilky, Czechoslovakia, discusses pre-war life; the Hungarian occupation 1941 to 1944; moving to Berehovo ghetto in March 1944; being deported to Auschwitz concentration camp in May 1944; being transferred to Mauthausen in June 1944; labor camps until liberated by U.S. Army in Ebensee; wandering post-war through Hungary, Romania, and Slovakia; living in Fürth displaced persons camp; and instances of kindness from German guards and Austrian civilians.
