    Interview Summary
    Abram Shnaper, born on May 15, 1918 in Vilna, Poland (now Vilnius, Lithuania), discusses the Vilna ghetto underground; his capture by the Germans; being deported to a series of camps in Estonia, including Vaivara; liberation on September 22, 1944; returning to Vilna in November 1944 where he worked with Hashomer Hatzair; living in Warsaw, Poland from 1945 to 1948; living in Bergen-Belsen displaced persons camp from 1948 to 1949; and immigrating to the United States in 1949.
