    Sonja Etscovitz (née Gläser), born on January 25, 1934 in Liegnitz, Germany (now Legnica, Poland), discusses her Jewish father and non-Jewish mother.

    Ilse Borenstein (née Gläser), born on February 10, 1926 in Liegnitz, discusses her Jewish father and non-Jewish mother; attending Hebrew school; being a member of a Zionist youth group with her older sister; her sister Sonja, niece, and mother hiding at Goldberg farm from 1944 until early 1945; her and her father’s internment in Grünthal labor camp from 1944 until January 1945; being sent on a forced march to Gross-Rosen; being told to go back to their hometown and register; her father and mother being taken and killed in February 1945; going to her Christian step-sister for help; registering as non-Jewish to get evacuated to Bavaria; telling the Americans that she was Jewish in May 1945; going to Deggendorf and a children's home in Landshut to await immigration; and immigrating to the United States on January 24, 1948.
