    Interview Summary
    Herman Geldner, born in Zawiercie, Poland, discusses his prewar life; the Germans rounding up the Jews when they first arrived; a Polish officer letting him out; returning home; his deportation to Eichtal labor camp in 1940; his deportation to Russia (Gross Maslovitz) to work on railroads; internment in several camps including Buchenwald; forced labor; liberation on April 11, 1945; living in displaced persons camps in Poland and Germany; and immigrating to the United States in May 1952.
