    Interview Summary
    Leon Gross, born on October 3, 1924 in Pi?czów, Poland, discusses living at home in Pi?czów until October 1942; his childhood memories of the change in atmosphere prior to the war; hiding in a wooded area of Pi?czów for six months; his involvement in underground activity for six weeks; his arrest; his deportation to P?aszów labor camp near Krakow; escaping and returning to the woods; finding his way to Chmielnik; his arrest by local authorities; being sent to HASAG ammunition outfit in Kielce; forced labor from 1943 to 1944; being transferred to Buchenwald concentration camp in January 1945; liberation by the Americans on April 11, 1945; living in Zeilsheim displaced persons camp in Frankfurt from 1945 to 1948; immigrating to Canada in 1948; and immigrating to the United States in April 1954.
