    Dorothy Isaacsohn, born on July 15, 1933 in Berlin, Germany, discusses living with her uncle in Brussels; returning to her parents in Berlin in 1941; her parents being sent to a Zwangsarbeit (forced labor camp); her father preparing a hiding place but the owners keeping them out when deportation threatened; other hiding places; a nephew turning in her father; Germans who helped; some distrust of Jews in mixed marriages; enduring difficult conditions; bombing at war's end; living under Soviet occupation from December 1944 to May 1945; living in Berlin after the war; and immigrating to the United States in November 1949.
