    Interview Summary
    Rachel Kahan (née Wider), born on February 21, 1933 in Sighet, Romania, discusses her family being caught in Bessarabia while visiting family in 1939; moving further into the USSR; her father being drafted into the Soviet army in Stalingrad never to return; the internment of her remaining family in labor camps in 1941; returning to Sighet postwar; and immigrating to the United States in 1959.
