    Interview Summary
    Edith Listman (née Solomon), born on September 12, 1918 in Košín, Czechoslovakia, discusses her prewar years in Košín; studying at a teacher's college; teaching briefly before being forced to go to Prague in 1939; working on farms; deportation to Theresienstadt concentration camp with her husband in 1942; internment in Auschwitz concentration camp from 1944 to 1945; deportation to an additional camp on the Czech border; being released by the Germans in a Czech town; life under the Soviets from 1945 to 1948; living in a displaced persons camp in Germany from 1948 to 1950; and immigrating to the United States on August 31, 1950.

    The Gratz College Holocaust Oral History Archive donated the interview to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in 2017. The interview was recorded for the American Gathering of Holocaust Survivors in 1985.
