    Interview Summary
    Leslie Saunders, born in 1919 in Debrecen, Hungary, discusses his prewar life; the Nazi takeover; internment in multiple labor camps; escaping several times; carrying good cothes so as not to appear as an escapee; never registering with authorities; hiding in a factory his family had owned; being hidden by his Christian sister-in-law until liberation by the Soviets in January 1945; and immigrating to the United States in 1948.
