    Helen Sherman (née Makower), born on July 10, 1925 in Zychlin, Poland, discusses living in Zychlin through the German invasion and the creation of the ghetto until July 1940; internment in Sandhofen (Natzweiler-Struthof) and Achinzalsen (phonetic) from 1940 to 1942; internment in Auschwitz from 1942 to 1944; internment in Reichenbach; a forced march to Salzwedel; living in displaced persons camps in Salzwedel, Braunschweig, and Stuttgart postwar; and immigrating to the United States on July 15, 1946.
