    Interview Summary
    Felix Syrkus, born on December 5, 1914 in Warsaw, Poland, discusses his family; joining the Polish army prewar; living in the Warsaw ghetto; escaping the ghetto with his wife, sister, and brother-in-law; returning to the ghetto with his brother-in-law; getting caught in the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising; hiding in a bunker; going to the non-ghetto side of Warsaw in 1943; having an operation to reverse circumcision; joining the Polish underground as a non-Jew called Alexander Romanczuk from 1943 to 1945; involvement in the Warsaw Polish Uprising; narrow escapes; living in Landsberg am Lech postwar from September 1945 to February 1948; and immigrating to the United States in 1948.
