    Interview Summary
    Esther Weiss (née Mermelstein), born on April 13, 1924 in Chynadiyovo, Czechoslovakia (present-day Ukraine), discusses Munkacs ghetto; her deportation to Auschwitz in 1944; selection, Appells, and brutality; selection by Josef Mengele for crematoria but her sister saving her; forced labor in Christianstadt; working in an ammunition factory; a forced march to Bergen-Belsen in January and February 1945; liberation by the British on April 14, 1945; rehabilitation in a barracks hospital postwar; and going to Sweden.
