Gertrude Winter papers

Contains drawings, documents, notebooks, and correspondence related to the life and work of Gertrude Winter, a first- and second-grade teacher for girls at the "Volksschule der Israelitischen Kultusgemeinde Wien," which was located in the Castellezgasse in Vienna. The school was closed in the summer of 1941. The papers include twenty-eight letters addressed to Ms. Winter, containing Rosh Hashana greetings from her students; some include pictures and decorations. The papers also include four letters written by the students to their teacher, and thirteen pages of different essays about trips and about winter, as well as poems listing the seasons.
