    Interview Summary
    Pnina Kaminsky (née Sheinfeld), born in 1927 in Falticeni, Romania, discusses her father Marco (Mordechai) Sheinfeld, her mother Chana Sapochnik, and her brother Benny Sheinfeld (four years older than her); living near the border of Romania and Russia in 1942; their capture by the Germans as part of Operation Barbarossa; the murder of her father and brother by the Germans in front of her; living in hiding at age 15 for about a month with her mother and a group of women until they were captured by the Germans and taken to a labor camp in Russia; being separated from mother at the camp upon arrival; not knowing her mother’s fate until she reunited with her in Israel years later; working in a laundry factory after the war; meeting Yakov Kaminsky, whom she married in 1946; the birth of her daughters in Israel; and how she sees her large family (including grandchildren and great-grandchildren) as a victory over the Nazis.
