Rozia Zaks Kaplovitz collection

Contains a poesie (autograph) album signed by friends of Rozia Zaks [donor's maternal aunt] from Sosnowiec, Poland, who survived the Sosnowiec ghetto and the Oberaltstadt forced labor camp. The album contains well wishes, poems, and thoughts written by Rozia's friends, starting on May 9, 1945. Rozia Zaks (later Rose Kaplovitz) was born in 1932, daughter of Mendel and Hinda. Roza and her two sisters Tola and Mania survived together in Oberaltstadt. After liberation, Roza was placed in a Jewish orphanage in Chorzow and later in the Leipheim displaced persons camp. In 1947 she immigrated in the U.S.
