General Henning Linden, assistant commanding general, 42nd Rainbow Infantry Division, gives directions to his troops from the parapet of the bridge at the Jourhaus at the entrance to the Dachau concentration camp.

The civilian with the white armband is Dr. Victor Maurer of the ICRC (International Red Cross). The German officer to the left is SS Lt. Wickert, the German officer who surrendered the camp. [oversize print]
