Antisemitic and anti-Bolshevik poster depicting a naked Leon Trotsky sitting on a pile of skulls.

Photograph | Photograph Number: 06330

Antisemitic and anti-Bolshevik poster depicting a naked Leon Trotsky sitting on a pile of skulls.

The title reads: "Bolshevik Freedom." The caption on the right reads: "Bolsheviks promised: We will give you peace; we will give you freedom; we will give you land, jobs, and bread. They deceived us: they initiated war with Poland. Instead of freedom, they gave us a fist; instead of land -- expropriation; instead of jobs -- destitution; instead of bread -- famine." The poster was designed by Skabowski and printed by the Polish Army poster division.

An antisemitic caricature published in Eduard Fuchs, "Die Juden in der Karikatur: ein Beitrag zur Kulturgeschichte." Albert Langen, 1921.
