Members of an international commission investigating German war crimes visit Auschwitz-Birkenau.

From left to right are a professor from London, a Polish major, a professor from Moscow, Hewlett Johnson, the mayor of Krakow, a professor from the United States, Naftali Saleschütz and Sigmund Distenfeld, from Poland.

After the war, Naftali Saleschütz, assisted the work of the international commission headed by Hewlett Johnson, Dean of Canterbury, that was engaged in investigating German war crimes. In this capacity, Naftali visited most of the concentration camps in Poland and photographed them extensively.
