Portrait of Noah Strauss in the Kovno Ghetto.
Before the war, Noah was a clerk in the Central Bank of Kovno. During the Slobodka pogroms in June 1941, Lithuanian partisans fired shots into his home. His mother Yentl was killed, and Noah lost his left arm. In June 1944, Noah was deported to Dachau where he perished shortly before liberation.
