Photograph | Photograph Number: 14467

Dr. Nelte, defense attorney for Wilhelm Keitel, questions a witness at the International Military Tribunal trial of war criminals at Nuremberg.

Pictured at the upper left is the interpreters box. To the right of the box is the coordinating monitor who regulates the speed of the speakers voice by flashing either a red light meaning "stop" or a yellow one, meaning "slow down." Sitting beside him (below the screen) is Col. Mays, the marshall of the court who is responsible for order in the courtroom while the tribunal is in session. The defendants dock is pictured at the left. In front of them are the defense counsel sitting at five tables. Facing them on the right are the court reporters.
