Morris and Sala Pressner lived in Zaleszczyki, on the Romanian border, with their two daughters, Fella, the donor and Rita. In 1934 the family left Poland for Paris, France, where the father, Morris and his brother, Jules, represented the Pressner family business. In June 1940 the family escaped from Paris to Marseilles. Thanks to the help of the Pressner family in America a Cuban entry visa was secured in October 1941. The family that consisted of 9 members left for Havana, Cuba from Lisbon on the Portuguese ship " Serpa Pinto". In April 1944 Fella and her family emigrated to the U.S.
