Portrait of Menachem Borenstein, used for a "Kennkarte". He perished in the Warsaw ghetto. The donor noted that Menachem was a bright boy who was interested in science and anatomy and had dreams of becoming a physician.

Portrait of Menachem Borenstein, used for a "Kennkarte". He perished in the Warsaw ghetto. The donor noted that Menachem was a bright boy who was interested in science and anatomy and had dreams of becoming a physician.

Mrs. Kolski kept all of her pre-war and wartime photos in a cloth pouch around her neck after her mother appeared to her in a dream telling her to do so. She was thus able to preserve them throughout the two year period she was in hiding.
