American soldiers remove snow from the corpses of U.S. troops killed by the SS in the Malmedy atrocity. The man on the right was an army medic.

The original caption reads "In the vicinity of Malmedy, Belgium, American soldiers, only portion of bodies seen in picture, prepare to remove for burial the bodies of some of their comrades shot down by Germans in a counter attack, after the American had surrendered, on or about 17 December 1944. Many Americans were victims of this treachery."
