    Biography
Imre (Rozsnyai) Rosner (1919-1987), the donor's father, was the only son of Izidor and Adel (Engelsberg) Rozsnyai of Tiszaujlak, Hungary. In the late 1930s or early 1940s Imre moved to Budapest, where he was drafted into the Hungarian labor service. While in Budapest, he met Klara Krausz (1924-1986), the only child of Abraham and Margit (Winter) Krausz, who lived in the capital. Imre and Klara were married in the spring of 1944. Not long after their wedding Klara and her parents went into hiding in a convent. Imre remained with the labor service until December, when his unit was deported to the Austrian border. From there he was forcibly marched to Mauthausen, where he was liberated a few months later by the U.S. Army. Soon after the war he was reunited with Klara and her parents in Budapest, where they remained until 1956. In that year Imre and Klara divorced and Klara immigrated to Canada with their daughter.
