    Biography
Geza Friedman (now Tatransky) was born August 3, 1909 in Kosice, Czechoslovakia. He married Marta Wohlmuth in Prague in 1939. On December 1 of that year, Geza was sent to an internment camp in Bratislava. After his release in September 1940, Geza and Marta moved to Kosice, where their son Jiri was born on August 24, 1942. The family secured false identification papers and lived as non-Jews in Slovakia, and later in Budapest. After the liberation Geza changed his family name to Tatransky and moved back to Czechoslovakia.
