    Biography
    Anita Sockol (born Anita Plachte) is the only child of Ludwig and Margarete Plachte. She was born September 17, 1927 in Berlin, where her father was a manufacturer of women's clothing. The family fled to Holland in April 1938 and from there to the United States, arriving on September 18, 1938.
