    Biography
    Fred Frater, a civilian photographer, was drafted into the American Army in July 1943, where he served as a glider trooper in the 82nd Airborne Division. He also served in the 307th Engineering Corps until after the Battle of the Bulge, when he joined Division Headquarters as a photographer.
