    Biography
Stefa Friedfertig was born in the Lvov ghetto on February 28, 1942. Prior to the war her father Israel worked in a chocolate factory. Her mother Dora Odower Friedfertig was a housewife. After a year, in June 1943, Dora brought Stefa to Josef and Maria Amborski who hid her for the duration of the war. Originally they also hid Dora who posed as Josef's sister, but she eventually had to leave. After the war, Dora and Stefa were reunited, but Israel had perished. Dora and Stefa stayed in the Belsen DP camp before coming to the United States in June, 1950 on board the General House.
