View of the entrance to the Gypsy camp on Brzezinska Street in the Lodz ghetto after its liquidation.

In the fall of 1941, 5007 Austrian Gypsies of the Lalleri tribe were deported to Lodz, where they were housed in a block of buildings on Brzezinska Street. The Gypsy camp was adjacent to the ghetto but separated from it by a barbed-wire enclosure. The Gypsy population remained only for a few months before being deported with the first transports to Chelmno early in 1942.
