Children gather around a table at an end of the school party, in honor of Yitzhak Sonenson. The party took place in the Sonenson's living room only days before the German invasion.

Sitting in the center is Yitzhak Sonenson. Second from right is Meir (Mulke) Sonenson sitting on the lap of Avigdor Katz. Second from left is Gittele Sonenson and at the far left is Hayya Tawlitski. Standing at the extreme right is Altke Tawlitski. Yaffa Sonenson is in the checkered dress, and on her right is Shirale Kaganov.

All the children were murdered during the Holocaust except for Gittele Sonenson who died from TB in the cave where she was hiding, and Yitzhak and Yaffa Sonenson survived the Holocaust in hiding. The house was totally destroyed when the local population looked for hidden loot.
