Shepske (Shabtai) Sonenson stands in front of a home in Eisiskes. Shepske Sonenson was the leader of the Betar Zionist movement in Eisiskes and was very active in Hebrew education. He was killed by the Germans during the September 1941 mass shooting action in Eisiskes.
