    Biography
    Franz Bischof, vice-consul in charge of Swiss interests in Budapest between 1937 and 1945. In the fall and winter of 1944-1945 he worked together with the Swiss consul, Charles (Carl) Lutz, to rescue Hungarian Jews from arrest and deportation. In addition to distributing protective passes, he personally hid more than 30 Jews.
