Senator Bill Frist speaking at the Forum on Bringing a Just Peace to Sudan hosted by the Committee on Conscience of the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum.
Sudan is home to the world's largest running civil war which has killed some 2 million people, displaced 4-5 million more and destroyed the physical and moral fabric of much of Sudanese society. The Committee on Conscience has issued a genocide warning for Sudan.
The forum was opened by Sen. William Frist and Rep. Frank Wolf. Also participating in the forum was Jerome Shestack, chair of the Committee on Conscience, and John J. Hamre, president of the Center for Strategic and International Studies. Also Francis Deng and J. Stephen Morrison presented.
