Reichsfuehrer-SS Heinrich Himmler (center) confers with SS and Police Leader Hans Adolf Pruetzmann (extreme left) and Ludolf Herman von Alvensleben (second from the left) during a visit to the Crimea.

During this visit, Himmler gave Pruetzmann a written order to kill all the residents of the Pinsk ghetto (population 16,200), then, the largest remaining Jewish community in the Ukraine. The community was killed between October 29 and November 1, 1942.
