    Biography
Anna Meyer was born in Koblenz Germany. Though her parents were alive, she attended a Rothschild school primarily for orphans to prepare Jewish children for immigration to Palestine. They learned different vocational skills including sewing, cooking and agriculture. After the school was destroyed during Kristallnacht, the Red Cross sent the children to Cologne to live with private families. From there they were sent on a Kindertransport to Belgium. Anna's parents had hoped to immigrate to the United States, but were unsuccessful. They perished during the Holocaust.
