Reichsfuehrer Heinrich Himmler observes two German soldiers, one in a camoulflaged helmut, loading a mortar in an unidentified location.

According to a researcher Himmler is talking with unknown soldiers of Gatz von Berlichingen. The photo was taken in Thouars on April 10, 1944 during the formation of the SS-Division Gatz von Berlichingen. The researcher received this information from Himmlers adjutant Werner Grothmann who Iidentified this and several other photos from the same time.
