A Czech-Jewish woman poses surrounded by her six grown children outside her home in Nachod.

Mathilde Goldschmid is in the center. Her children from left to right are Jenny (b.1878), Lola (b.1898), Hans (b.1891), Alice (b.1880), Lily (b.1884) and Marianna (b. 1886). All five daughters perished in the Holocaust. Only Hans survived the war in Palestine.
