An American soldier follows others into the still smoldering ruins of the Landsberg (Kaufering Lager I) concentration camp, sub-camp of Dachau.
Original caption reads: "Landsberg atrocity: 7th U.S. Army troops enter the smoking ruins of the Landsberg concentration camp. Before American forces captured the camp, German guards locked their prisoners in the wooden huts and set fire to them. Some burned to death in the buildings, others found strength to crawl out and die in the streets. Most prisoners were naked, but some had remnants of clothing on their charred bodies."
