Photograph | Photograph Number: 98224

Moise Cassorla, father of the donor, is sitting on the bench, second person from the right. Rabbi Joseph M Brandriss is pictured seated on the left.

Rabbi Brandriss received his ordination from the Consistoire in 1939 and served as a Jewish Chaplain in the 107th Infantry of the French Army. He spent the war years in a prisoner-of-war camp in Germany. After the war he was appointed Rabbi in St. Amiens and Grand-Rabbin du la Nord de la France at Lille prior to immigrating to the United States.
