The body of former Reichsfuehrer-SS Heinrich Himmler after his suicide in British custody.

Original caption reads: "Reichsfuehrer SS Heinrich Himmler, was arrested by troops of the British 2nd Army at Bremervorde on 21st May and taken into Field Security custody on 22nd May. Himmler was travelling under the name of Hizinger and was disguised with a black patch over his right eye and had shaved off his moustache. Himmler was confined under armed guard -- stripped and medically examined to find hidden poison. During the final stage of this examination he bit upon a small glass phial containing cyanide of potassium, concealed in his mouth. He died in 15 minutes".
