Handwritten death certificate for Lilly Weilheimer decorated with a Jewish star and written in the Gurs internment camp.

The text reads: The Lord has given, and the Lord has taken, Praised be the name of the Lord. On the 18th of July, 1941, the 23rd of Tamuz 5701, There came upon us the harsh death i nthe Camp de Gurs, Basses Pyrenees, France of my beloved darling, our dear cherished mother, our dear daughter, sister, aunt and sister-in-law, our faithful friend, Mrs. Lilly Weilheimer, nee Wetzlar from Ludwigshafen on the Rein born 4/24/1902 taken from us so very soon, we bury her on July 20, 1941 at the camp's cemetery for her eternal rest, in the midst of 800 mourners, a victim of our struggle. Honor be her memory. Lea Bas Gidel. Died on 23 Tamuz 5701. May she rest in peace. Distant from the eye, always near to the heart.
