    Event History
Chateau de Beloeil was owned by Prince Eugene de Ligne, a member of the Belgian royal family. During the war he opened his castle to needy children, including many Jews in hiding. Prince Eugene de Ligne and his wife Philippine took an active role in the care of the children. In 1975, Yad Vashem recognized them as Righteous Among the Nations.
