A female Soviet soldier walks before unidentified corpses.

Photograph | Photograph Number: 98298

A female Soviet soldier walks before unidentified corpses.

The original German caption on the reverse reads,

"Und wieder ein Flintenweib! Sie lebte nimmer lange!"

The term 'Flintenweib' was pejoratively used to describe armed women in the Soviet forces. The individual who captioned the photograph suggested that the woman did not live long the photograph was taken.
