Jewish women from Subcarpathian Rus who have been selected for forced labor at Auschwitz-Birkenau, wait to be taken to another section of the camp.

From left to right (front row) are Laye Moshkovics Gruenglass, Etya Moshkovics, Schprintza Moshkovics Steiner, Zehava Edelstein Avineri, and Margit Edelstein Eckerman. Laye, Etya and Schprintza were the daughters of Rabbi Shmuel Moshkovics. Zehava and Margit were twins. In the second row (left to right) are Blanka, Ester, and Piri Simcovics.
