    Color. Scenic shots of Arosa, Switzerland and mountains. Ice skating in FG. Ice rink. Betsy sits on some steps outside of a building and waves. Ice rink. Pan up to the snow covered mountainside. Betsy gets a skating lesson and Jeanne also skates. Betsy and Robert stand next to a building, balloons hang from the side of the building's railing. From overhead, a long line of horse drawn sleighs with balloons. Jeanne sits in a sleigh, waves, balloons hang from the sleigh behind her. More shots of the sleighs and horses. 01:06:37 MS, Betsy holds a blue balloon with "Tschuggen Club Arosa" in white on the balloon. [from the Tschuggen hotel] Sleighs move along a cleared path in the snow, one with a large banner reading "Tschuggen Club." Betsy and Jeanne stand outside a large building, sleighs in BG. 01:07:31 Ice skaters perform. 01:08:22 Jeanne and Betsy pick up skis. Robert also on skis, wearing a blue hat and scarf and skiing goggles. Jeanne and Frits, both carrying skis, walk towards the camera. VAR shots, Kan family skis, the children sled. 01:10:54 Black and white. Jeanne and Betsy get skis, walk towards the slopes, and then put skis on. 01:11:39 Jeanne wearing the number "1" and Betsy "3," briefly posing for the camera. They ski down a hill and practicing turning while stationary. An unidentified man gives things to Betsy and Jeanne who then shake his hand. The two women pose for the camera pointing to little pins on their lapels.

    Biography
    Born in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, Robert Kan and his family escaped the Nazis on May 13, 1940 and emigrated to Queens, New York via the Dutch East Indies. He received a BA in Economics from Hofstra Univeristy and worked for thirty years for the US government at the Department of Commerce, the Atomic Energy Commission, the National Science Foundation, and the American Embassy in Tokyo. After retiring from the government, he became a Certified Financial Planner. He was a lifelong Boy Scout and accomplished philatelist. He was married for 58 years to Francisca Verdoner Kan and had three daughters, Jeanette, Susan, and Eleanor.
