- Film Provenance
- Ellen Schaffer donated this Degeto-Weltspiegel film to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in memory of her father in August 2007. Her late father, Dr. Julius Schaffer, brought the newsreel back from Europe after WWII. The newsreel was produced for viewing in the home.
- Note
- This newsreel series was sold in 8mm and 16mm formats for viewing in the home. The donor also provided the original document that accompanied the newsreel. The document describes the German Wehrmacht's arrival in Paris on 14 June 1940. The document also quotes the June 13 issue of the Volkische Beobachter, which says that France overestimated their own power and now it is up to the present-day German Wehrmacht to reach the goal which the brave previous generation could not reach when it laid down its arms in 1918.
