Overview

Description: Consists of the English-language translations of letters written between 1929 - 1944 by Simon and Francesca Krausz of Pecs, Hungary, to their son, Laszlo Krausz, a musician and conductor living in Switzerland. The letters, originally written in Hungarian, describe life in Hungary and the Krausz's experiences during the war until they were deported to Auschwitz in 1944. The original letters are housed in the Laszlo and Susan Krausz collection at Case Western Reserve Historical Society in Cleveland.
