    Biography
    William H. Ramkey served with the 83rd Infantry Division of the US Army during World War II. During his service he became involved with programs for displaced persons in Austria. Ramkey was discharged from the US Army in 1953.

    The Ramkey papers were collect by William Ramkey during his service with the 83rd U.S. Infantry Division. The documents came into Ramkey's possession as a result of his work as executive secretary of the Displaced Persons Advisory Board in Austria.
