    Overview

    Brief Narrative
    The sabots were made in Le Chambon-sur-Lignon, France, by M. Samuel Heritier Before leaving Le Chambon-sur-Lignon, France, for Nîmes, France, to study midwifery in 1942, Mme. Maurice Chazot replaced one of the au pair girls who worked at the parsonage taking care of the Trocmé children. She got to know the Trocmé family and came into contact with Dr. Le Forestier who often lived with the Trocmés before his marriage. When Mme. Chazot returned to Le Chambon from her two years of study in Nîmes in 1944, Dr. Le Forestier asked her to be his assistant, and she accepted his offer
